Conformity

Conformity, it is by definition "Action or behavior in correspondence with socially accepted standards, conventions, rules, or laws: conformity to university regulations." Anyone who has read "The Communist Manifesto" has read about a "perfect world" threw conformity. This brings up the issue does conformity have the potential to solve any of the problems out world is engulfed by? mainly racism. Furthermore, what would a conformed society be like, has their already been a conformed society. Also what around to you see as "conformity"?

I leave it to you...

I don't agree that we "need" racism, classism, ageism etc. but I do believe tat each perso is entitled to their own pinion and views and if that means people have the right to be racist so be it. However I must stress that believing your race is superior is one thing, but wanting to exterminate all other races is different. Your opinion is your opinion as long as your not hurting anyone.

I find diversity and individuality to be a plus, but unlike onlyoneword I don't need to lower the self-worth of other individuals to achieve self-expression and originality.

all i can say is that opinions and believes should better people and better the society.
I think that such believes that can discriminate man ... can only destroy individuality and bring a lot of pain. whether it be based on colour, caste... whatever
Onlyoneword, why do you think racism... and all the other '-isms' needed?

Nita its not that I want racism, I wish the world we live in wasn't englufed by it. I think it is pure ignorance, but we have to let people believe what they want to believe. No one can set the parameters for what one can beleive in.

racism is born of fear. I'd like to express my way of thinking that should be based on love: love of life, love of people. fear can only lead to more fear, once you get rid of the thing you were afraid of in the first place... so you look for another container, and another, then one terrible day you find out you deposited your fear in those who love you most.

i belive conformity is to follow paths others have made, measured, and limited. it is the lack of questioning, the lack of interest in participaing in your own life. so why not question, make your own path, or even broaden the one already paved?

(the above is my own particular opinion. accept or reject it as you like: but think about it.)
